Model Number Finder

When you call Lafayette Appliance Repair, one question we’ll ask is, “What’s your appliance model number?”

We need the model number to get information vital to repairing your unit, such as parts availability and pricing as well as technical resources.  The model number will most likely appear on either a foil or paper sticker or a metal plate — hopefully in an easy-to find place. Finding the model number of your appliance can be simple if you have a new appliance, and not so simple if you have an older appliance.

On older appliances, the Model No. sticker or plate could be worn off, missing or just difficult to find. Luckily, in recent years manufacturers have been more helpful placing model number information in locations that are easily accessible to you. Model numbers can be made up of numbers (101505400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE).  Here’s a sample model no. sticker for electric range manufactured by Magic Chef:

Don’t consider the user’s manual a confirmed source for model number information. While it may contain model number information, manufacturers make different styles within your model and the manual may be produced to include several styles. Parts variances between series can be subtle but still different.

We’ve compiled lists from the different manufacturers and the locations commonly found for a model number. We have identified them by appliance type.
